Meanwhile
the trend is going the other way for jobs related
to Microsoft. In commentary accompanying its statistics,
Freelancer.com called the 41.1 per cent fall in Microsoft
jobs, to just 681 postings over the quarter, evidence
of "secular decline".
However
the commentary did sound a note of hope.
"The
recent announcement around a new mixed reality headset
from the Seattle tech giant might yet see a whole
new set of developers clamoring to build the next
sweeping application of the tech," it said.
Meanwhile
the dominance of Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat
in the social media stakes was evident in continuing
falls for jobs related to most other platforms.
Out
of favour social media accounts included Pinterest,
down 34.7 per cent to 1,575 jobs for the last quarter,
Twitter down 27.3 per cent to 2,488 and Google Plus
down 34.9 per cent to 1,472 postings.
ASX-listed
Freelancer.com has had struggles of its own recently,
with an ex-employee suing
for unfair dismissal and its share
price falling after a flat half yearly result.
However the freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace
still claims to be the world's largest by total number
of users and jobs posted, with more than 12 million
listings to date if acquired marketplaces are included.
