Kate
Mara insists 'Fantastic Four' depicts "relatable"
superheroes.
The
32-year-old actress - who plays Susan Storm/Invisible
Woman in the Marvel Comics-inspired movie - has revealed
the upcoming film will show viewers the personalities
behind their characters' powers.
She
explained: "We're trying to make these superheroes
feel as relatable as possible. You get to know who
Sue is before she has all these powers."
The
movie - which is set to be released next month - has
been directed by Josh Trank, who continued to liken
the film to a prequel because it introduces viewers
to the relationship between the characters, who eventually
become superheroes.
Speaking
at Comic-Con 2015 in San Diego, he explained: "It's
an origin but it almost works as a prequel of the
characters before they become the iconic version of
those characters. It's a group of friends who become
a family."
Josh,
31, continued to say he believes the film - which
also stars Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan and Miles
Teller - will please fans of his directorial debut,
2012's 'Chronicle', because it once again depicts
an alternative science fiction thriller.
He
said: "After we made Chronicle, I wanted to tackle
the same subject again in a different way. I wanted
to explore a side of these characters we haven't seen
before."
