Foxtel commissions a second series of Tony Robinson’s Time Walks

Media Release: Tuesday, April 2, 2013

It was announced today that Foxtel has commissioned a second series of the hugely successful History Channel production, Tony Robinson’s Time Walks.

To premiere on The History Channel in early 2014, the 10 x 30 minute series will see iconic British actor, comedian and television presenter Tony Robinson reprise his role as host.

Best-known for his role as Baldrick in the cult comedy Blackadder, Tony has several successful television productions under his belt including the hugely popular Tony Robinson Explores Australia which is, to date, the highest-rating series ever on The History Channel, followed closely by the first series of Tony Robinson’s Time Walks.

In series two, Tony will bring his signature storytelling approach to ten brand new locations: The Barossa Valley, Canberra, Parramatta, Geelong, Townsville, Kalgoorlie, Wellington, Christchurch, Alice Springs and Uluru.

Foxtel’s General Manager of Factual Channels, Jim Buchan said “The first series of Tony Robinson’s Time Walks was a runaway success for The History Channel, redefining how relevant and accessible our brand commissions can be in delivering new untold histories to our audiences.”

“Tony brings such great energy and perspective to the series and we’re delighted to have him back on board for another series.”

Tony Robinson said: “I’m over the moon to be making a second series of Time Walks and can’t wait to get back to Australia to discover even more of the hidden history that lies behind, above and below the places Australians walk every day.”

Tony Robinson’s Time Walks will commence production in April 2013 and will go to air on The History Channel in early 2014.

Tony Robinson’s Time Walks is produced by WTFN Entertainment and is exclusive to The History Channel.
