THERE will be new cars and new liveries up and down pit lane as the V8 Supercars kick off practice at the Gold Coast 600 on Friday.

Here is a rundown on all the changes.

EREBUS MOTORSPORT
The No. 4 Mercedes for Lee Holdsworth and Craig Baird is a brand-new car for this weekend — kinda.

Their regular machine took its second big hit in as many races in a big crash at Bathurst and was too damaged to be repaired in time for the trip to the Gold Coast.

Erebus has instead built up their spare chassis, which actually started out life as the team’s original Ford Falcon Car of the Future chassis, built by the then-Stone Brothers Racing team prior to their takeover by Betty Klimenko and switch to Mercedes.

They also welcome aboard local radio station Sea FM and Jupiters Hotel and Casino aboard both cars for the weekend.

DICK JOHNSON RACING
The fluorescent green splashes on the DJR Falcons will turn bright pink for this weekend, with Wilson Security once again showing their support for the McGrath Foundation and marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

TEAM BOC
Now this is cool. Brad Jones Racing has teamed up with 20th Century Fox to promote the DVD and Blu-ray launch of Hollywood blockbuster X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The roof of the Jason Bright/Andrew Jones Commodore will carry an image of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for the entire weekend, while Brighty enjoyed the services of Mystique as his car controller for the team’s practice pit stops on Thursday.

All three of Brad Jones Racing’s Commodores have been fully repaired after their unfortunate series of misadventures during the Bathurst 1000.
