With
more than 50 sports packaged into the app, Kayo Sports will also deliver a long
list of international sports to viewers who, according to analysts, have been
forced to spend big dollars to watch them via individual apps. NETFLIX
OF SPORT Kayo
Sports chief executive Julian Ogrin said delivering so many different codes in
one place was an unprecedented offering that wasnt possible
anywhere else in the world. We
had that vision of creating that Netflix of sport idea and when you
look around the world, it really doesnt exist, he said. To
think that the Australian sports fan is going to get an exclusive service that
is unprecedented in the world that is something that is impressive. The
company will get access to live matches and on-demand replays from an arsenal
of three providers Fox Sports, BeIN Sports, and ESPN allowing the
service to deliver everything from the Australian T20 cricket and Big Bash League,
to One Day Internationals between New Zealand and India, or English and Ireland
that might not otherwise find a screen in Australia. Other
international sports covered by the Kayo Sports umbrella include American NFL
football, NBA an NCAA College Basketball, and Major-league Baseball, international
soccer such as the FA Cup, Socceroos matches, La Liga, Serie A, and Bundesliga,
golfing tournaments US Open, European PGA Tour, and British Senior Open, as well
as UFC matches, MotoGP, World Rowing Championship, Even
footy favourites such as the State of Origin and Bledisloe Cup will feature on
the app, allowing fans to catch up after the game, or sneak a look if caught somewhere
else. Plenty of
female codes also feature in Kayo Sports, including international soccer matches
featuring the Matildas, Australian basketball league WNBL, Womens Champions
Trophy in hockey, and the Womens World Rugby Sevens. 30,000
HOURS OF SPORTS PER YEAR And
then there are important but lesser recognised sports such as the Premier League
Darts, FEI World Cup Vaulting, and the PSA Squash Hong Kong finals, amid many
others. Mr Ogrin
said Kayo Sports offered such a comprehensive list of sports to appeal to sports
lovers from season to season summer cricket to rugby league, for example. We
will offer is over 30,000 hours of sport annually, and over 2000 hours of sport
every month, he said. Were
really catering for all those sports lovers who like codes from all around the
world. Streaming
services in Australia currently command an audience of more than 9.1 million users,
but Telsyte managing director Foad Fadaghi said sports fans had been forced to
take out individual subscriptions for sport, potentially costing them big dollars
if they wanted to access more than one. If
you look at the number of streaming subscribers that Telstra has for NFL, NRL,
and motorsport, its a very large marketplace, he said. In
Australia, putting aside Netflix and Stan, sport is the largest part of the market.
People pay to see sports like the NBA an UFC an many niche interests in the sporting
space. The number of subscribers is actually a large part of the market. Each
Telstra pass currently costs $12.99 per month, while Optus Sport commands
$14.99 for its international soccer coverage, quickly adding up if users want
to watch several sports seasons. Kayo
Sports, at kayosports.com.au, will cost
$25 per month to stream sports to two devices at once, or $35 for access to the
service on three screens. Its currently available on Apple and Telstra TV,
for Apple and Google Android smartphones, on web browsers and via Google Chromecast
Ultra devices. Click

full list of sports streamed through service is available here.
