'Fantastic Four': Matthew Vaughn to produce...
Fantastic
Four will be produced by Matthew Vaughn.
The
X-Men: First Class director has accepted a role on
the 20th Century Fox Marvel Comics reboot, according
to Deadline.
Vaughn
was previously attached to direct X-Men: Days of Future
Past for the studio before stepping aside for Bryan
Singer last year.
Chronicle
director Josh Trank is attached to helm the adaptation
of Marvel's oldest superhero property.
2005's
Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel Rise of the Silver
Surfer were critically panned upon release.
The
Fantastic Four reboot is scheduled for release on
March 6, 2015.
Green Lantern: 'No word on sequel ', says Mark Strong...
Mark
Strong has revealed that he has heard no word about
a Green Lantern movie sequel.
The
actor, who played Sinestro in the critical and commercial
flop, has discussed his generally well-received role.
"I
really like Green Lantern," he told MTV News.
"I don't have a problem with it at all. But it
just didn't seem to do anything at the box office
or it didn't do what they were hoping it would do
at the box office. I think that more than anything,
economics, dictates whether or not they make another
one.
"I
think it's a real shame. I loved making Green Lantern
and I loved playing Sinestro and I was really excited
about the direction that he was going to take in the
second one."
The
conclusion of the Ryan Reynolds-starring Warner Bros
film set the franchise up for a sequel featuring the
founding of the fear-powered Sinestro Corps.
Stan Lee's 'Annihilator' bound for cinema...
Stan
Lee's Annihilator has been optioned for cinema by
Magic Storm Entertainment.
Bourne
Legacy writer Dan Gilroy will pen a screenplay based
on the character that Lee created for the Chinese
market, The Wrap reports.
Annihilator's
story is reminiscent of Captain America's, telling
of a young Chinese expatriate named Ming who survives
a Us military super-soldier programme thanks to his
martial arts training.
TV
producer Barry Josephson will oversee the project's
development and National Film Capital will provide
financial backing.
Lee
previously teamed up with Liquid Comics to created
a superhero property for the Indian market called
Chakra - The Invincible.
Annihilator
is yet to appoint a cast and director.
'Iron Man 3': Ben Kingsley's Mandarin featured in
new poster...
Iron
Man 3 has released a new poster featuring Sir Ben
Kingsley.
The
poster, revealed by Empire, depicts the actor's take
on classic comic book villain the Mandarin.
Marvel
Studios head Kevin Feige previously said that Kingsley's
antagonist "blurs ethnicity", as the character
is a mix of various warrior motifs from across the
world.
"It's
less about his specific ethnicity than the symbolism
of various cultures and iconography that he perverts
for his own end," he explained in a previous
interview.
Mandarin
is considered one of Tony Stark's greatest foes in
the Marvel Comics Universe, but is yet to feature
on-screen.
Robert
Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Hall,
Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and
Wang Xueqi will also appear in the Shane Black-directed
movie.
Iron
Man 3 will arrive in UK cinemas on April 26, 2013,
following in the Us on May 3.
'X-Men:
Days of Future Past': Peter Dinklage not CG villain...
Peter Dinklage will not play a CG villain in X-Men:
Days of Future Past.
Bryan
Singer has praised the Game of Thrones actor, saying
that he was his first choice for the role.
"He's
not going to be a CGI character," the director
told IGN. "He'll be himself.
"Not
that he'll be playing Peter Dinklage, he'll be playing
this character. It's not a shy character. He's just
such a phenomenal actor - I'm a huge fan of Peter's
and Game of Thrones.
"He
was my first choice and I was really happy [about
the casting]. It's so funny to talk to him because
he does that impeccable accent [on Game of Thrones]
and then you talk to him and he's this guy from New
Jersey."
Singer
previously hinted that the 20th Century Fox film would
feature a fully CGI character, leading to speculation
that Dinklage would take on the role.
The
actor has also been rumoured to play Sentinel creator
Bolivar Trask.
'X-Men:
Days of Future Past': Bryan Singer shares mansion
image...
Bryan
Singer has shared a new image from X-Men: Days of
Future Past.
Following
Singer's unveiling of the first image from the film
earlier this week, the second picture shows an underground
corridor inside Professor Xavier's mansion, which
will lead to the room in which mutant-detecting device
Cerebro is stored.
Singer
shared the image via Twitter, and accompanied it with
a message implying that there will be a panel for
X-Men: Days of Future Past at this year's San Diego
Comic-Con.
Based
on Chris Claremont's comic arc of the same name, Days
of Future Past features a dual storyline which moves
between the present day - in which the X-Men fight
against Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) - and a dystopian
future timeline caused by their failure to prevent
the assassination of a senator.
'Amazing Spider-Man 2': Marc Webb shares cryptic new
image...
Marc
Webb has shared a new image from The Amazing Spider-Man.
The
returning director last week offered a glimpse of
Spider-Man's new costume for the sequel, but was more
cryptic with his latest image, which shows a collage
of 32nd Us President Franklin D Roosevelt.
Alongside
the image, Webb wrote only a mysterious hashtag: "#thepassage."
Andrew
Garfield and Emma Stone will reprise their lead roles
in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is penned by Star
Trek Into Darkness writing team Roberto Orci and Alex
Kurtzman, alongside former Fringe and Lost writer
Jeff Pinkner.
New
cast additions include Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborne,
Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Jamie Foxx as
Electro and Paul Giamatti as The Rhino.
Sam
Raimi on 'Amazing Spider-Man': 'I don't have the guts
to watch it'
'Amazing
Spider-Man 2' gets official synopsis.
Hugh
Jackman is haunted by his past in new 'The Wolverine'
picture...
A
new image from The Wolverine has been released.
Hugh
Jackman returns as Logan/Wolverine in James Mangold's
upcoming film, which will find the character isolated
and "pissed off".
The
image, released by the film's Facebook page, shows
Logan standing against a Japanese backdrop and was
accompanied by the caption: "The past is always
behind you, but the memories still remain."
The
first trailer for The Wolverine is due to arrive in
late March, reportedly before screenings of G.I. Joe:
Retaliation.
Will
Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto,
Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee round out the film's
supporting cast, while Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy actress
Svetlana Khodchenkova is rumoured to be playing the
role of Viper.
Jackman
will also appear in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men:
Days of Future Past, which is set ten years after
the events of X-Men: First Class.
Batman documentary 'Legends of the Knight' trailer
released - watch...
A
trailer for upcoming Batman documentary Legends of
the Knight has been released.
The
film, which explores the inspirational impact of Batman
and the power of heroic storytelling, has been made
by collecting tales from fans around the world whose
lives have been significantly impacted by the Dark
Knight.
The
not-for-profit movie is being produced and directed
by lifelong Batman fan Brett Culp, who introduces
the clip by saying the goal is "to inspire everyone
on the planet who loves Batman to embody his spirit,
to engage with the world and to make a difference".
Culp
and his team have filmed 48 interviews in 12 cities
for the movie.
Continuing,
Culp also asks for help from fellow Batman fans to
finish the film, which is due for release in summer
2013.
Dwayne Johnson 'Hercules' movie casts 'Headhunters'
Aksel Hennie...
Hercules
has cast Headhunters star Aksel Hennie.
The
actor will play a mad warrior named Tydeus in Brett
Ratner's action adventure, according to The Hollywood
Reporter.
The
film stars Dwayne Johnson in the title role. The weary
warrior has become a mercenary in order to occupy
himself after completing his legendary tasks.
He
and his six companions begin to suspect the motives
of their vicious employer Cotys, the King of Thrace.
The
take on the mythical hero ejects the magical and divine
elements of the legend, leaving Hercules as a mighty
warrior but not the son of Zeus.
The
MGM and Paramount Pictures movie is based on Radical
Publishing's two Hercules series The Thracian Wars
and The Knives of Kush.
Hennie
also starred in Max Manus and will make his English-language
debut in the recently wrapped The Last Knights, which
he will appear in alongside Morgan Freeman and Clive
Owen.
