already heard about the scandal / s at the ABC, so we're not going to rehash over
them. I
found the ABC to be once a great organisation, but for me and many of my associates,
that was quite a few years ago. It can't have been just me that noticed how bias
they had become. I know its not - I've spoken to dozens of people about it over
the past number of years, and that is the community and industry sentiment. On
one occasion a programme director refused to acknowledge that my hand had gone
up to ask a question and to make a statement. As a media agent with a background
in journalism, my questions have been taken at dozens upon dozens of media, business
and community events over the past almost two decades, but the ABC apparently
deliberately dodged my question and statement, despite stating that they encourage
audience participation on websites and in other forms of PR coming out of Auntie.
Former prime ministers have taken my questions, so have mining magnates, world
champion athletes and so on, but not - the ABC decided not to take my question
and comment, despite me putting it in writing days earlier for the program director.
That evening a few years back is when the ABC lost me. I am also a former member
of 'The Friends Of The ABC'. I
don't like all this Left vs The Right rubbish. I just want news to be news. Entertainment
to be entertainment. Frankly, I had expected much better from the ABC. Lately
I've been watching a lot more SBS, thanks to their world class documentaries and
celebrated SBS On Demand service. I
like many Australian's are hoping that some time, hopefully soon, the ABC can
once again be great again, as part of a larger vision of Make Australian Great
Again... at least we got a modified slogan from Donald Trump. He's very good at
catch phrases, partly thanks to his time in and around the WWE sports entertainment
machine. We hope you have enjoyed our ABC banter today - now back to work, or
return to your favorite television (or streaming) programs.
