An
excellent show Bill. Thanks for asking mate. The WWE powers that be see the huge
potential in the Australian region. Some of that potential was realised last night
as 70,000 plus filled the MCG. The Aussie crowds are hot, passionate and loud.
They are not so over exposed to live WWE events, so that helps make a great atmosphere
and environment for television broadcasts, and in this case WWE Network broadcasting.
I watched on the network for a number of reasons, being in Sydney, and it saved
me about $700 that it would have cost going to Melbourne overnight et Al. I went
to the Global Warning Tour back in 2002 and this SSD was a superior show. WWE
still apparently needs legends to help draw massive crowd and news media, but
they are booking the entire card line up well. Great booking of Murphy for the
win and fellow Aussie's Iconics. Styles vs Joe awesome and probably stole the
show. Nice unique finish for Rousey, and Undertaker vs Triple H delivered. The
show had a great mix of wrestling, characters, great booking and an appreciative
crowd. Also backed by the Victorian State Government, and the show made money.
It's hard to argue with success. Now, let's see the legendary Fabulous Kangaroos
and Australian Kangaroos in the WWE Hall of Fame, as well as a few of my celebrity
wing picks like Cindy Lauper and Andy Warhol, and they will be prepared for even
more news media buzz and an even bigger crowd next time. I smell an NXT Australian
plan and show on the horizon. Full marks to the WWE on delivering and then some.
