The Rock confirmed his participation in the role on via Twitter and advised that Academy Award winner Akiva Goldsman will be writing the script.

It was reported in June that The Rock would also be producing the movie.

The book by Ludlim follows a former consular ops agent, Paul Janson, that goes into business as a private security consultant after. The agent leaves the covert ops business after a high number of sanctioned killings. He teams with a sharpshooter and only takes assignments that he believe will help people in need.

He wrote the following on Instagram:
