JEFF WAYNE'S MUSICAL VERSION OF WAR OF THE WORLDS

Introduction

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds is a 5-reel 100-line slot machine, with each reel being 4 symbols tall. In addition to a bonus round (where winnings are awarded for damaging and killing the Fighting Machines), the game features special Wild symbols which react together to fill a reel with wilds.

Step 1: Getting Started
When you load the game you will be given the option to load the Full high quality version of the game (which has all the animations and sounds) or the Reduced quality version which has fewer sounds and animations and lower quality graphics so the overall file size is smaller and quicker to download. The game functionality and payouts are exactly the same for both versions. After the version you have selected has all been loaded you will see the main screen:

Press the 'STAKE UP' and 'STAKE DOWN' buttons to choose a stake per line.

Your selected stake per line will be multiplied by 100 lines. You cannot change the number of lines in this game.

The total amount you have staked will be shown in the TOTAL STAKE box at the bottom right of the screen.

Click on the 'Paytable' button to view the paytable, which shows the potential winnings for each reel combination,

Step 2: How To Play
Press 'PLAY' to start the game (Alternatively you can press the Spacebar on your keyboard to spin).

The reels will spin and eventually stop at random.

If the combination of symbols appearing on the reels form a line (starting from the left reel) of 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols on one of the 100 win lines then you win.

Any symbols that were part of a win will be highlighted and your winnings will be credited to your account balance.

The total winnings are shown in the top right and the total number of lines that had a win are shown in the bottom left of the screen.

Fighting Machine Bonus
The Fighting Machine bonus game is a special bonus win, triggered by getting 3 BONUS symbols anywhere on the reels (this is a scatter win, so the BONUS symbols do not have to be on the same winline).

There is no line win attached to the BONUS scatter win - only entry to the bonus game, which itself guarantees a win.

When the game enters the bonus round, you will see the introduction screen showing details of the bonus game. The idea of this bonus is to shoot as many of the Fighting Machines as you can before they shoot all 3 of your cannons.

You have 3 cannons and there are 3 Fighting Machines to shoot, each of your cannons can only shoot forwards at the machine in front of it (you cannot aim left or right, you can only adjust the power by pressing the Fire button at a different time).

When the power meter is on the amount you want then press the Fire button to fire that cannon. The cannon will then be disabled for a moment while it reloads.

If you kill all 3 of the machines then you will get onto the next stage. There are 3 stages in total and you get a bonus of 500 times your total stake if you complete them all by killing all 9 Fighting Machines.

The game ends when you have no more cannons left or when you have killed all 9 machines. You will then be awarded your winnings and taken back to the main game.

Wild Symbols
The WILD symbol substitutes all other symbols except for the BONUS symbol to enhance your chances of getting a winning line.

If 2 WILD symbols are revealed on the same reel - one at the top and one at the bottom - then they will expand to change the two symbols in-between them to WILD symbols as well, and so increasing your chance of getting several wins. This expanding wild event occurs even if there are no wins created.

A row of WILD symbols on an active win line does not have any associated payout - the WILD pays only when used as a substitute for another symbol.

Auto Play
By selecting 'AUTO PLAY' you can choose to place up to 25 bets automatically, one after the other. Click 'AUTO PLAY' and select the number of automatic bets you want before clicking the 'PLAY' button to start those bets.

You can stop Auto Play from continuing onto the next spin by clicking 'STOP AUTO' (which replaces the 'AUTO PLAY' button when you are in Auto Play.

Auto Play will turn off if you get into the bonus round.

GENERAL NOTES
This game has a Return to Player of 94.7%. - System malfunction voids all pays and play.

Beyond the album
Video game
In 1984 CRL Group PLC released Jeff Wayne's Video Game Version of The War of the Worlds for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer. It was also released in Germany as Jeff Wayne's Video Version von Der Krieg der Welten.

Computer game
A 1998 computer game version, Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds, was created by Rage Software. Jeff Wayne produced the musical arrangements for the game, consisting of 45 minutes of material re-scored and remixed in a newer electronica style with techno beats. The game's artwork was based on the illustrations found throughout the original album booklet, and some of Burton's dialogue as the journalist is used in the opening scenes. A version of the game was also released for the Sony PlayStation, although this was a more "arcade" style game.

Animated version
In late 2004 the ULLAdubULLA II production had been commissioned for an animated CGI film version set for a 2007 release, although as of 2010, the film is still in its production stages. Test footage of some of the Martian machines has been released to War of the Worlds online.

Tour
A live tour, based on the album, took place in the UK and Ireland in April 2006. A 'virtual' Richard Burton (a projected image of a picture of a young Richard Burton with a super-imposed actor's mouth and jaw lip synched to the original Burton recordings) performed as The Journalist. Justin Hayward reprised his original role as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist and Chris Thompson returned as The Voice Of Humanity. Also from the original recording were Chris Spedding playing lead guitar and Herbie Flowers playing bass guitar. Other guest artists who appeared were Alexis James as The Artilleryman, Russell Watson as Parson Nathaniel and Tara Blaise as Beth. Daniel Boys (known from BBC's Any Dream Will Do) was understudy for all the roles sung by male artists. A model Fighting Machine featured on stage. Also presented was a short animated 'prequel' to the story in the style of the upcoming feature-length film detailing the Martians' ecological destruction of their own world (which was originally made for the 1998 computer game Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds) and their preparations to invade Earth, and including a short remix of "The Red Weed". The show was produced by Damian Collier and Jeff Wayne, who also conducted the 48-piece ULLAdubULLA Strings and 10-piece Black Smoke Band.
The live show toured Australia and New Zealand in 2007, with dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Auckland. The Australian tour featured "Australian Idol" runner-up Shannon Noll as Parson Nathaniel, actress Rachael Beck as Beth and Michael Falzon as the Artilleryman, alongside Justin Hayward and Chris Thompson from the original cast.[4] A further UK live tour took place in December 2007 with Justin Hayward, Chris Thompson, Alexis James, John Payne as Parson, and Sinéad Quinn as Beth.
2008 marked the 30th anniversary of the original album release and a number of events took place, including a "30th Anniversary" tour which started on 7 June 2009 in Dublin. The 30th anniversary saw Justin Hayward, Alexis James and Chris Thompson reprise their respective roles, with Shannon Noll taking the role of Parson Nathaniel and Jennifer Ellison as Beth. However, when Noll had to leave the show halfway through its 2009 tour, the role of Parson Nathaniel went to Damien Edwards, who completed the run. Jeff Wayne says that he and the show's producer, Damian Collier, will be attempting to "make it the most exciting production yet".[5]. Richard Burton's head has also changed. It now looks more realistic, because the whole face is now animated (an actor was found with a similar facial structure, and all of Burton's narrative parts were mimed, and his face was super-imposed onto the face of the actor. In November 2009 Wayne announced on his website dates for another tour in the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Holland, and for the first time, Belgium, in late 2010 - early 2011.

DVD
A two disc DVD special edition of the 2006 Wembley Arena, London show was released 6 November 2006 by Universal. Disc 1 contains the live show and Disc 2 contains extras and a documentary of the making of the live show. It is titled Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds - Live on Stage.

Aim Of The Game
Remember that childhood game called "War" in which you tried to get all of the playing cards? All the cards were dealt out and then everyone played a card. Whoever had the highest card won all of the cards in play. If there were a tie, you would go to WAR and play another round for all of the cards. Casino War is much like this card game and was built to imitate the original "war" game that many of us played as kids. Casino War's popularity is exploding because anyone can learn the game in a matter of seconds.

How To Play
Your chips are stacked by denomination (£1, £5, £25, £100, £500) at the bottom of the screen above your User label. The Player may make any wager desired within the posted table limits. Bet placed on the players play circle\ante location on table. The amount wagered per hand may be increased or decreased by placing the mouse on the stack that you wish to add or subtract to your bet. Each time you click the left mouse button you will add a chip from that pile to your planned wager amount. Likewise by clicking on the right mouse button you can decrease your planned wager amount. If you place a wager that is lower than the minimum table bet limit, your bet amount will be automatically adjusted to the minimum bet amount.

Summary Of Rules
The game is played with six decks
Cards are ranked as in poker, except aces are always high. The suit does not matter
After the players have made a wager each player and the dealer shall get one card
Each player's card shall be compared with the dealer's card. If the player's card is higher they win even money. If the dealer's card is higher the player loses
In the event of a tie the player shall have two choices : (1) surrender and forfeit half the bet, and (2) go to War (see rule 6)
If the player elects to go to War he must raise his bet by an amount equal to his original wager. The dealer will then burn three cards and give the player and dealer another card each. If the player's second card beats the dealer then the player shall win even money on the raise only and the original wager shall push. If the dealer's second card is greater the player shall lose both bets. Player wins in war on a second tie. War win pays 1 to 2
A bonus tie bet is also available, which pays 10 to 1 if the first two cards tie and the bonus "tie bet is placed before the round starts."
Note - If your card values are tied and you do not make a choice to either surrender or go to war with the house before the time limit on the clock expires; the game will automatically disconnect you from the server and the game state will be saved until you return.
