Sky News Australia rebranding to News24: A new era in news to begin on 27 July

June 29, 2026

After three decades as Sky News Australia, News24 launches on 27 July, marking the beginning of a bold new era in news with new digital products, an enhanced on-air look, expanded international coverage and a renewed commitment to delivering real news and honest views.

News24 will be live from Monday 27 July, ushering in a new era of news.

From 27 July, the network – known as Sky News Australia for the last three decades – will operate under the name News24, with its existing portfolio of broadcast channels, streaming products and digital assets all transitioning to http://News24.com.au.

News24 reflects the network’s evolution from a traditional linear Australian television channel to a globally ambitious multi-platform news business, with a growing international audience.

Paul Whittaker, Chief Executive Officer of Sky News Australia said: “On 27 July we step into a new era of news.

“Since we launched thirty years ago as Australia’s first 24-hour news channel, we have grown to become a trusted and central part of Australian journalism. Today’s announcements further solidify our commitment and investment in delivering premium news coverage and incisive commentary that informs on the vital issues shaping our nation and the world.

“Our inherent entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to bring our viewers the news live as it happens remains unchanged, and I look forward to launching News24 in the coming weeks, as we embark on this exciting next chapter.”

News24 programming will be available across existing broadcast and streaming platforms including subscription television, regional free-to-air television, FAST channels on connected TVs, podcasts, through Facebook and YouTube and will be available as an audio stream on DAB+ radio in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
