More than 30 beer babes showed up at the Netherlands-Denmark match on Monday wearing orange minidresses emblazoned with the name of a Dutch brewery — earning them a red card from World Cup officials who acted to quash what they called an ambush marketing scam.

So-called ambush marketing is banned by FIFA, soccer’s governing body, which fiercely protects its lucrative contracts. The American maker of Budweiser is the only beer company allowed to advertise within the World Cup stadiums.

Bavaria NV has been selling special eight-packs of beer including the skimpy orange “Dutchy Dress.”
