Australian citizens and global citizens need to protest more often, and louder, until so called political "leaders" listen. I'm calling for all Australians to become activists. We need to stand by the youth and educators of Australia and take half a day or a day off work or away from our business and go on strike - protest all together. Adults Parents, Teachers...all and sundry following the lead from Australian students who care about their future. And, eco business, eco tourism and such is big business. Don't let the politicians lie to Australia's youth or us. Without Australia's (mainly) beautiful beautiful beaches do you think we would be a worldwide tourism hit still? This is close to home. Read up about the pollution at Malabar "Beach" (becoming a lie...sewer outlet is more accurate). Research Coogee "Beach"... terrible pollution. I doubt I'm going to swim there again after new findings. Also be careful if swimming near Maroubra Beach 'Rubik's Cube' outlet (which I adopted on the Randwick City Council "Adopt A Drain' initiative). Ring the council for more information. As a qualified journalist, media and sports agent these matters are close to my heart. I have lived close to Sydney's beaches for most of my life. I am not going to let corporate greed and corruption totally destroy our beaches without a fight, and I know lots of Aussies will be joining me. No, I am not a greenie.. Fanatical tree hugger. Just an everyday Aussie who works in and around media, and loves and appreciates nature. Again, there's lots of jobs and opportunities in the eco-tourism and sustainability industry, so do not be lied to by any corrupt politicians or business people. The buck starts and stops with all of us. I'm happy to be the organiser of a Maroubra Beach based protest if the readership would like to look at joining me. I thought I would also mention I worked on the Sydney Water Board for 5 years and WaveCam (similar to CoastalWatch) for a few years. I'm not a scientist, but you don't have to be to see the massive destruction of the environmental going on. This is very close to home. Please join me in the quest to help save Australian beaches, and Mother Nature as a whole. Thank you. Greg Tingle.
