WWE
Television TV segments: A history lesson
As
all pro wrestling fans know, the WWE (former World
Wrestling Entertainment, World Wrestler Federation
etc etc), has been home to a number of in-house TV
segments hosted by pro wrestlers over the years. Some
of these talk show segments are still part of regular
WWE programing.
Current
segments:
Miz
TV - by The Miz

The
Highlight Reel - by Chris Jericho

Former
segments:
Piper's
Pit - "Rowdy" Roddy Piper (the most famous
wrestling talk show segment by far)
The
Body shop - Jesse "The Body" Ventura
The
Flower Shop - "Adorable" Adrian Adonis
The
Snake Pit - Jake "The Snake" Roberts
The
Funeral Parlor - Paul Bearer and The Undertaker
Tuesday
Night Titan's - Vince McMahon
A
Flair For The Gold - With Ric Flair of course. Was
this the only TV talk show style series that ever
appeared on WCW? That was probally a good thing, even
though Flair rules. Woooooo!
Buddy's
Corner - "The Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers.
The story goes that this only lasted a few shows but
it was very classy and well done.
Other
shows hosted by pro wrestlers (because we know your
going to bring it up)
The
Steve Austin Show - has become an internet and news
media sensation. Guests have included Shawn Michaels

DDP
- Diamond Dallas Page - not a program as such, however
Page, Jake Roberts and Scott Hall regularly appear
on YouTube with updates from 'The Crib' and beyond.

The
Matt Hardy Show - yet another pro wrestling YouTube
based show. Matt and Jeff Hardy, and a number of their
friends, collegues and students often make appearences.

The
Honky Tonk Man 'Shake, Rattle & Roll' radio show
- Blog Talk Radio

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper - The Rod Pod

Last
year there was a lot of internet chatter about a reality
TV show, 'Legends House', that featured the likes
of Roddy Piper, Jim Duggan, Gene Okerlund, Hillbilly
Jim, Howard Finkel, Jimmy Hart, Pat Patterson and
Tony Atlas. Many got the impression that this show
will (one day) be broadcast on the WWE Network.
